In 2025, we raised £567 to support Skating Scene Nigeria, purchasing 10 skateboards for young skaters in Nigeria. Despite setbacks during delivery, the boards arrived in June and were distributed to skaters aged 7 to 21 across Lagos and Benin.

In 2025, we launched the first step in what we hope will become a long-term movement to support skate culture in Nigeria. Through a charitable fundraiser, we raised £567 for Skating Scene Nigeria, a community-focused initiative aimed at helping young Nigerian skaters access the equipment, opportunities, and support they need to grow. With the money raised, we purchased 10 skateboards in the UK on 30 March 2025 and arranged for them to be shipped to Nigeria. The purpose of the project was bigger than simply donating boards. We wanted to give young skaters the chance to compete, record their progress, publicise their lifestyle, and build confidence through skating. In Nigeria, skating is more than a sport. It is a culture, a creative outlet, and a community that brings people together. The journey was not without challenges. During the process, the skateboards were stolen before reaching the skaters. After negotiations with the company involved, we were reimbursed, and the skateboards finally arrived in Nigeria in June 2025. Once the boards arrived, they were handed over to our local team and distributed to young skaters aged 7 to 21 across Lagos and Benin. For many of them, having access to proper equipment created a new opportunity to practise, improve, and take part more fully in the growing Nigerian skate scene. This project showed us how much can be achieved through community support, persistence, and belief in young people. What began as a small fundraiser became a real contribution to a culture that is still growing and deserves more recognition. This is only the beginning of what we want to build. Our aim is to continue supporting skaters in Nigeria by helping provide equipment, visibility, and opportunities for the next generation of talent.
